# MangaDen vs Eclipse

The clearest difference is rating: MangaDen at 5.0 against Eclipse's 4.5. MangaDen also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Eclipse's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Eclipse sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. MangaDen asks for nothing beyond the download.

MangaDen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Eclipse has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of MangaDen's written reviews are positive against 89% of Eclipse's.

MangaDen ships an update every 3 weeks, Eclipse every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
