# Distant vs FlickNote

The clearest difference is monetization model: Distant at free against FlickNote's freemium. FlickNote's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Distant sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and FlickNote sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Distant against 5.0 for FlickNote. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively.

Distant ships an update every 3 weeks, FlickNote every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
