# WriteVoice vs AI Reader

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AI Reader at none against WriteVoice's 4. AI Reader also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (210 vs 23). WriteVoice's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WriteVoice sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. AI Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

AI Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Reader has 210 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of WriteVoice's written reviews are positive against 76% of AI Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WriteVoice ships an update every 2 weeks, AI Reader every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
