# Idle Code Tycoon vs Archmage Idle

The clearest difference is ads: Idle Code Tycoon at none against Archmage Idle's shown. Idle Code Tycoon also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (335 vs 66). Archmage Idle's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (78% vs 68%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Idle Code Tycoon sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Archmage Idle sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Idle Code Tycoon holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Idle Code Tycoon has 335 ratings behind it against 66, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Idle Code Tycoon's written reviews are positive against 78% of Archmage Idle's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Idle Code Tycoon ships an update every 2 weeks, Archmage Idle every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
