# MigraineCast vs Forge

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Forge at none against MigraineCast's 11. Forge also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). MigraineCast's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MigraineCast sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Forge asks for nothing beyond the download.

Forge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MigraineCast has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MigraineCast ships an update weekly, Forge every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
