# Aethera vs Canopy

The clearest difference is monetization model: Aethera at free against Canopy's subscription. Aethera also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). Canopy's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 11 days). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aethera sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $10.00 per month and Canopy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Aethera against 4.8 for Canopy. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 52 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Aethera's written reviews are positive against 86% of Canopy's.

Aethera ships an update every 11 days, Canopy every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
