# LemoRead vs Staread

The clearest difference is rating: LemoRead at 4.2 against Staread's 2.8. LemoRead also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Staread's advantage is chart position (#153 vs unranked) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LemoRead sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per 7 days and Staread sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LemoRead holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 117 and 113 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of LemoRead's written reviews are positive against 41% of Staread's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LemoRead ships an update monthly, Staread fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
