# SnapExpense vs ExpenseElf

The clearest difference is ads: SnapExpense at none against ExpenseElf's shown. ExpenseElf's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapExpense sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per month and ExpenseElf sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SnapExpense ships an update every 2 months, ExpenseElf every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
