# Focus Study Timer vs Pomodoro Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Focus Study Timer at 4.6 against Pomodoro Timer's 4.0. Focus Study Timer also leads on ratings volume (76 vs 4) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Pomodoro Timer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Study Timer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Pomodoro Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Study Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus Study Timer has 76 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Focus Study Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Pomodoro Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Focus Study Timer ships an update weekly, Pomodoro Timer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
