# Hackney vs WildFares

The clearest difference is monetization model: Hackney at free against WildFares's free with in-app purchases. Hackney also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (134 vs 4). WildFares's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hackney sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and WildFares sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WildFares holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hackney has 134 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of Hackney's written reviews are positive against 100% of WildFares's.

Hackney ships an update every 5 days, WildFares every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
