# Shift Planner & Calendar vs Shiftlyx

The clearest difference is monetization model: Shift Planner & Calendar at free against Shiftlyx's free with in-app purchases. Shiftlyx's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shift Planner & Calendar sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Shiftlyx sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shift Planner & Calendar ships an update every 2 weeks, Shiftlyx every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
