# Sprout vs CertTracker

The clearest difference is rating: CertTracker at 5.0 against Sprout's 4.3. CertTracker also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 11 days) and monetization model (free vs freemium). Sprout's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sprout sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and CertTracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CertTracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sprout has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sprout ships an update every 11 days, CertTracker daily. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
