# Wondering vs alphaXiv

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: alphaXiv at none against Wondering's 9. Wondering's advantage is ratings volume (88 vs 17) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wondering sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. alphaXiv asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Wondering against 4.7 for alphaXiv. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wondering has 88 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 95% of Wondering's written reviews are positive against 100% of alphaXiv's.

Wondering ships an update weekly, alphaXiv every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
