# Marker for Creators vs prefx

The clearest difference is rating: prefx at 5.0 against Marker for Creators's 3.8. Marker for Creators's advantage is ratings volume (24 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Marker for Creators sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and prefx sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

prefx holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Marker for Creators has 24 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Marker for Creators ships an update every 2 weeks, prefx every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
