# OverlayGPS vs Speed Overlay Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Speed Overlay Camera at 5.0 against OverlayGPS's 4.0. Speed Overlay Camera also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). OverlayGPS's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OverlayGPS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Speed Overlay Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speed Overlay Camera holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OverlayGPS has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of OverlayGPS's written reviews are positive against 100% of Speed Overlay Camera's.

OverlayGPS ships an update fortnightly, Speed Overlay Camera every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
