# HitWave vs Control

The clearest difference is rating: Control at 5.0 against HitWave's 2.5. HitWave's advantage is ratings volume (678 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Control holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HitWave has 678 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HitWave ships an update every 2 weeks, Control every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
