# Phone Location vs Location Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Phone Location at 5.0 against Location Tracker's 4.4. Phone Location also leads on ads (none vs shown). Location Tracker's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (50% vs 20%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Phone Location sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days and Location Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Phone Location holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Location Tracker has 407 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Phone Location's written reviews are positive against 50% of Location Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
