# Trace Camera vs AR Trace

The clearest difference is rating: Trace Camera at 4.2 against AR Trace's 3.0. Trace Camera also leads on ratings volume (10 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). AR Trace's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trace Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and AR Trace sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Trace Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trace Camera has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Trace Camera ships an update every 4 months, AR Trace every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
