# Matlock vs Schematic

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Schematic at 26 against Matlock's 1. Schematic also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 11 days). Matlock's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Matlock sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month and Schematic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $69.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Matlock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Schematic has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Matlock ships an update every 11 days, Schematic every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
