# iKontroller vs Virtual Steering Controller

The clearest difference is ads: iKontroller at none against Virtual Steering Controller's shown. iKontroller also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). Virtual Steering Controller's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iKontroller sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Virtual Steering Controller sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Virtual Steering Controller holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iKontroller's written reviews are positive against 75% of Virtual Steering Controller's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iKontroller ships an update every 2 weeks, Virtual Steering Controller fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
