# Quicknotes Journal vs DropMate

The clearest difference is update cadence: Quicknotes Journal at every 3 weeks against DropMate's every 2 months. Quicknotes Journal also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Quicknotes Journal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and DropMate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Quicknotes Journal ships an update every 3 weeks, DropMate every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
