# Ghost Detector Pro vs SPECTRAL

The clearest difference is monetization model: SPECTRAL at free with in-app purchases against Ghost Detector Pro's subscription. SPECTRAL also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). Ghost Detector Pro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (43 vs 4). On price, rating and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost Detector Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and SPECTRAL sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Ghost Detector Pro against 4.8 for SPECTRAL. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost Detector Pro has 43 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ghost Detector Pro ships an update every 5 weeks, SPECTRAL every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
