# TapDeck vs Smart TV Remote

TapDeck and Smart TV Remote are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. TapDeck sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Smart TV Remote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TapDeck ships an update every 5 days, Smart TV Remote every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
