# Anchor vs ThyWord

The clearest difference is rating: ThyWord at 4.9 against Anchor's 4.4. ThyWord also leads on ratings volume (104 vs 5) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Anchor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and ThyWord sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ThyWord holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThyWord has 104 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Anchor ships an update every 10 days, ThyWord every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
