# MoonPal vs chapter3five

The clearest difference is monetization model: MoonPal at free with in-app purchases against chapter3five's subscription. chapter3five's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 months) and device support (3 vs 1). Both are free to download. MoonPal sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year and chapter3five sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for MoonPal against 5.0 for chapter3five. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 10 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

MoonPal ships an update every 9 months, chapter3five every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
