# LiquidFin vs TechDad Player

The clearest difference is rating: TechDad Player at 5.0 against LiquidFin's 4.0. TechDad Player also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). LiquidFin's advantage is ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LiquidFin sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and TechDad Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TechDad Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of LiquidFin's written reviews are positive against 50% of TechDad Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LiquidFin ships an update fortnightly, TechDad Player every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
