# FocusDown vs Focus Train

The clearest difference is rating: FocusDown at 4.8 against Focus Train's 4.3. FocusDown also leads on ratings volume (70 vs 3). Focus Train's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 69%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FocusDown sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Focus Train sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FocusDown holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FocusDown has 70 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of FocusDown's written reviews are positive against 100% of Focus Train's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FocusDown ships an update every 3 weeks, Focus Train every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
