# QuantumPass vs TruCrypt

The clearest difference is update cadence: TruCrypt at every 2 weeks against QuantumPass's every 10 months. QuantumPass's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QuantumPass sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and TruCrypt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $59.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QuantumPass ships an update every 10 months, TruCrypt every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
