# Asterex vs BlockLab

The clearest difference is update cadence: Asterex at every 5 days against BlockLab's every 2 weeks. Asterex also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1) and device support (4 vs 2). BlockLab's advantage is iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Asterex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and BlockLab sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Asterex against 5.0 for BlockLab. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Asterex has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Asterex ships an update every 5 days, BlockLab every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
