# Asterex vs OffMemory

The clearest difference is monetization model: Asterex at free against OffMemory's free with in-app purchases. Asterex also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1). OffMemory's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (every 4 days vs weekly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Asterex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and OffMemory sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OffMemory holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Asterex has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Asterex ships an update weekly, OffMemory every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
