# AV Synth vs Pentaholic Synth

AV Synth and Pentaholic Synth both sit at 4.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of AV Synth's written reviews are positive against 57% of Pentaholic Synth's. Pentaholic Synth's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AV Synth sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Pentaholic Synth sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AV Synth holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pentaholic Synth has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of AV Synth's written reviews are positive against 57% of Pentaholic Synth's.

AV Synth ships an update every 3 days, Pentaholic Synth every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
