# MAI vs Folio

The clearest difference is update cadence: MAI at weekly against Folio's every 3 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MAI sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Folio sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MAI ships an update weekly, Folio every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
