# Whisper Note vs Open Transcription

The clearest difference is update cadence: Whisper Note at daily against Open Transcription's every 5 days. Whisper Note also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whisper Note sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Open Transcription sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whisper Note ships an update daily, Open Transcription every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
