# Waypointer vs Offline Hiker

The clearest difference is rating: Offline Hiker at 5.0 against Waypointer's 1.0. Offline Hiker also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Waypointer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Offline Hiker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Offline Hiker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively.

Waypointer ships an update every 5 months, Offline Hiker fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
