# OnStem vs STEM

The clearest difference is ads: STEM at none against OnStem's shown. STEM also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OnStem sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and STEM sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OnStem ships an update every 3 weeks, STEM every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
