# PDF Converter vs Codex AI

The clearest difference is rating: Codex AI at 4.7 against PDF Converter's 4.4. Codex AI also leads on ratings volume (91 vs 7). PDF Converter's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 81%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Converter sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Codex AI sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Codex AI holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Codex AI has 91 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of PDF Converter's written reviews are positive against 81% of Codex AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Converter ships an update every 10 days, Codex AI weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
