# Big Reader vs PDExact

The clearest difference is update cadence: PDExact at every 6 days against Big Reader's every 2 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Big Reader sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and PDExact sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Big Reader ships an update every 2 weeks, PDExact every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
