# PlotFork vs Booksie

The clearest difference is monetization model: PlotFork at free with in-app purchases against Booksie's subscription. PlotFork also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks). Booksie's advantage is ratings volume (37 vs 2). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PlotFork sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Booksie sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlotFork holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Booksie has 37 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PlotFork ships an update every 9 days, Booksie every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
