# Uboat vs Captain Memo

The clearest difference is rating: Captain Memo at 5.0 against Uboat's 4.5. Captain Memo also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 3 months). Uboat's advantage is ratings volume (389 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Uboat sells 17 one-off in-app purchases and Captain Memo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Uboat ships an update every 3 months, Captain Memo daily. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
