# YFF vs Start.

The clearest difference is ads: Start. at none against YFF's shown. Start. also leads on ratings volume (11 vs 1) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). YFF's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for YFF against 5.0 for Start.. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Start. has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

YFF ships an update every 5 days, Start. every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
