# KidBase vs Patch Vault

The clearest difference is monetization model: KidBase at free against Patch Vault's free with in-app purchases. KidBase also leads on iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). Patch Vault's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KidBase sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Patch Vault sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for KidBase against 5.0 for Patch Vault. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively.

KidBase ships an update every 2 months, Patch Vault every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
