# Pathway vs Trailcast

The clearest difference is update cadence: Trailcast at every 9 days against Pathway's every 5 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pathway sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Trailcast sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pathway ships an update every 5 weeks, Trailcast every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
