# Maktabati vs Parallel Arabic

The clearest difference is update cadence: Maktabati at every 6 days against Parallel Arabic's every 2 months. Parallel Arabic's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Maktabati sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Parallel Arabic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Maktabati ships an update every 6 days, Parallel Arabic every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
