# ScentMax vs Sillage

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ScentMax at 90% against Sillage's 0%. ScentMax also leads on rating (4.7 vs 1.2) and ratings volume (306 vs 5). Sillage's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScentMax sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Sillage sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScentMax holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScentMax has 306 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 90% of ScentMax's written reviews are positive against 0% of Sillage's.

ScentMax ships an update every 3 weeks, Sillage every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
