# NextUp vs Countdown

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: NextUp at none against Countdown's 3. Countdown's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. NextUp asks for nothing beyond the download.

NextUp ships an update every 2 months, Countdown every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
