# 1 Bit Notes vs Plainsight

The clearest difference is update cadence: Plainsight at every 2 weeks against 1 Bit Notes's every 2 months. 1 Bit Notes's advantage is device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 1 Bit Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Plainsight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

1 Bit Notes ships an update every 2 months, Plainsight every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
