# Ekho vs Calc Pass

The clearest difference is monetization model: Calc Pass at free with in-app purchases against Ekho's subscription. Calc Pass also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 8 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Ekho's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ekho sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Calc Pass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $49.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Calc Pass holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ekho has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ekho ships an update every 8 months, Calc Pass weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
