# Video Blur vs Secure Redact

The clearest difference is update cadence: Video Blur at every 10 days against Secure Redact's every 6 weeks. Secure Redact's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Blur sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Secure Redact sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Blur ships an update every 10 days, Secure Redact every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
