# Sesame vs SPECS

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Sesame at 1.9K against SPECS's 13. Sesame also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.1). SPECS's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Sesame against 5.0 for SPECS. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sesame has 1.9K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 89% of Sesame's written reviews are positive against 100% of SPECS's.

Sesame ships an update weekly, SPECS monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
