# Simple Planner vs TaskCanvas

The clearest difference is device support: Simple Planner at 3 against TaskCanvas's 1. Simple Planner also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Planner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TaskCanvas sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
